During the summer months, from the Shabbat after Passover until the Shabbat before Rosh Hashahah, we study a weekly chapter of the Talmud's Ethics of the Fathers ("Avot") each Shabbat afternoon.

This week we start again with studying Chapter 1.

Shout out to all the amazing volunteers, all night learners and everyone who made it to hear the 10 Commandments on Shavuot!

Mazal Tov to Elaine Beresh on receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award at Leading Age Michigan Member Awards Gala. This evening recognizes exceptional men and women who embody excellence in leadership, care and services, and who make significant contributions to seniors, their communities, and aging services.
Family Message
Dear Friend,

Shavuot was a spiritual blast (and a gastronomical delight). Are you wondering what to do with all that holy energy?

What does a kid do after you give him a toy car? He plays with it. What does a woman do after she is given a piece of lovely jewelry? She wears it. What do the Jews do with the Torah after receiving it from G-d? We learn it.

Yep, the Torah is endless. Just dive in and start swimming. Need some swimming lessons? That’s what we're here for. Give us a holler, and we’ll set up a syllabus just for you.

Jewish Art Calendar Campaign

banner for web.png

The Jewish Art Calendar has been serving our community for 19 years.  Each year is made up of a number of months, that can further be broken down into weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds...Comprising millions of moments.  At The Shul, we are committed to make every moment count.  Join us as we celebrate the past, present and future of our Shul Family - transforming each moment into an opportunity to rejoice and make the most of it.

In homes and offices, the calendar helped us to enjoy many Jewish holidays and life-cycle events. From community celebrations, to birthdays, graduations, and yartzeits, we remember our loved ones, keeping treasured memories alive as we watch little ones become young adults we can be proud of.

Be a part of The Jewish Art Calendar as we enter a year of growth and new opportunities.

THE PARSHAH IN A NUTSHELL

Parshat Naso

Completing the headcount of the Children of Israel taken in the Sinai Desert, a total of 8,580 Levite men between the ages of 30 and 50 are counted in a tally of those who will be doing the actual work of transporting the Tabernacle.

G‑d communicates to Moses the law of the sotah, the wayward wife suspected of unfaithfulness to her husband. Also given is the law of the nazir, who forswears wine, lets his or her hair grow long, and is forbidden to become contaminated through contact with a dead body. Aaron and his descendants, the kohanim, are instructed on how to bless the people of Israel.

The leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel each bring their offerings for the inauguration of the altar. Although their gifts are identical, each is brought on a different day and is individually described by the Torah.
