Where is the event? 
Menorah in the D will be held at Cadillac Square in Campus Martius Park in Detroit, Michigan, located downtown at 800 Woodward Ave., south of Grand Circus Park and north of Hart Plaza. See below for driving directions and parking information.

When is the event?
Menorah in the D  will take place on December 4, 2013 and will begin at 5:30 PM.

What is there to do at the event?
The lighting of the Detroit Menorah is the highlight of the event, and a beautiful ceremony to experience, but there are so many things to see and do at Menorah in the D. From toddlers to teenagers and parents to grandparents, there is certainly something for everyone at this family friendly event. Below are just a few of the happenings taking place at this year's event to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

EAT!

Don't miss the many treats, all at no charge, that will be served at this year's event. Hot soup, warm cider, apples, bananas with almond butter, crackers with hummus, bobo bars, s'mores and of course sufganiyot!

LISTEN!

New this year, a live concert by the 8th Day Band! Known for their biggest hits over the last several years — Ya’alili," “Cheery Bim," “All You Got," “The Rabbi’s Son" and many more, 8th Day Band is back with a new album and ready to rock at this year's Menorah in the D. Performers from the Detroit Circus will be joining in on the fun this year. Stilt walkers, rolling globe performers and other great acts will be entertaining the crowd.

CELEBRATE!

Dancing dreidels and Torahs will be making the rounds and getting folks of all ages in on the celebration. Jump in and join the fun!

Is there a shuttle service from the suburbs?
Yes! Round-trip bus transportation will be available from two locations: The Shul, in West Bloomfield, leaving promptly at 4:15 pm; and from the JCC in Oak Park, leaving promptly at 4:30 pm. The return buses will leave Campus Martius Park at 7 PM. The fee for each bus is $5. You must reserve your seat(s) by Nov. 27.  Please contact The Shul office at 
248-788-4000 to make your reservation for either bus.

Where is there Free Parking?
Free parking has been arranged at Two Detroit Center Parking, located at 160 E. Congress St., Detroit, MI 48226. 
When you pull into the garage, tell them that you are there for the Menorah Lighting event. 
Plenty of additional parking is also available nearby at regular rates.

Are there special stroller and wheelchair accommodations?
We have arranged for a special stroller and wheelchair area, which will be roped off for guests. Please note, there are no seats in this area. 

How much does it cost to attend the event?
Admission is FREE! The donuts and hot soup bar are FREE! The Concert is Free! Free parking has been arranged at Two Detroit Center Parking, located at 160 E. Congress St., Detroit, MI 48226.  Obtain a voucher at the Parking Garage. 

Round-trip bus transportation will be available from The Shul, in West Bloomfield for $10. Call The Shul to reserve your seat at 248.788.4000.

How long is the event?
The Menorah lighting ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM and should take approximately 45 minutes. Then you may enjoy the concert, food and Chanukah spirit. The returnbus shuttle will leave Campus Martius Park at 7 PM.
