Sukkot*

Even in 2020 everyone can enjoy G‑d's warm (sometimes wet) embrace in the sukkah!
 

Safety Precautions:
Only members of one household or pod may be in the sukkah together

All guests will be required to wear masks and use hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes (some will be provided) upon entering and before holding the lulav.

Snacks will be pre-packaged in individual servings

Social distancing will be observed at the event (both in and out of the sukkah).

"Sukkot Open house Kiddush" Sunday 10/4, following services––enjoy the Sukkot energy, community, L'chaim and lots of mitzvot.

"Sukkot Drive thru" Monday 10/5,  5-7 PM,  Click Here to Reserve Your Time Slot to enjoy hot soup with artisanal crackers, L'chaim and music! 

"Sukka parade for our grand-friends" Monday 10/5, 1pm, Driving thru the JCC campus passing by Fleishman's, Hechtman's, Meer, Danto and Brown Center sponsored by The Kelly Cooper Fund for Seniors 

"Sukkot in The Park" Wednesday 10/7. Following the joy of Shofar in the park, come together and celebrate with our Sukkah on wheels, music, and animal show. Chef Carie's truck will be there for dinner, so hop in the sukkah for a quick bite and enjoy the show!

"Sukkah to You" Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Click Here to Reserve Your Time Slot for a visit with the sukkah, a rabbi, rebbetzin and Sukkot treats. Invite some friends and bring the joy of Sukkot to your driveway, street, or neighborhood!

Welcome to Dance-in-your-place-Simchat-Torah-Outdoor-Celebration, a joyous Sunday morning service 10/11, 11-11:30 AM. 

Dance with your family or pod at a safe distance from others - flags and Torah treats will be provided.

Enjoy individually packaged kiddush goody bags with a mini bottle of l'chaim and grape juice. 

Join and connect in song and shared traditions.

What’s Sukkah in the Park?

Sukkah in the Park is way to celebrate Sukkot is a safe, socially distanced manner. Chabad of Michigan is bringing the Sukkah Mobile to you! There will be safe public celebrations across Michigan in parks and other locations. We can also arrange a private Sukkah party at your home or office for you to enjoy the holiday, grab a bit to fulfill the Mitzvah of eating in the Sukkah, and shake the Lulav & Etrog (and maybe some other fun holiday games & crafts too!). Some of the safety requirements include:

*Only members of one household may be in the Sukkah together
*Snacks will be pre-packed in individual servings
*All guests will be required to use (your own or provided) hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes upon entering the sukkah, before holding the lulav
*All visitors to the Sukkah must wear masks
*Social distancing will be observed at all events, both in and out of the Sukkah

What’s The Sukkah Mobile?

The Sukkah is a temporary hut for outdoor dwelling, consisting of three or four walls constructed for use under the stars. It's roof is topped with natural tree branches and vegetation, known as Sechach. 

The Sukkah Mobile is all that, on the move.

A Sukkah does not need to be stationed on the ground. As long as the Sukkah is a strong structure, covered with vegetation and beneath the open skies, the Sukkah is generally Kosher. (There are a number of  guidelines and requirements that must be followed in its construction, and regarding the location where it is erected, in order for a sukkah to be deemed “kosher”—fit for use)

Adventurous Sukkah inventors have come up with many different innovative Sukkah creations, like ones fitted for camels and elephants, portable pop up Sukkah's, Pedi Sukkah’s and an 18 wheeler Sukkah mobile.
